The collection consists of records of the Board of Christian Education and its predecessor, the Board of Education of the South Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church and its predecessor the Methodist Episcopal Church, South from 1894-1938 and 1957-1964. The records include minutes (1894-1929) of the Board of Education which document topics discussed, decisions made, and actions taken regarding various educational institutions associated with the South Georgia Conference. The institutions include Emory University, Wesleyan Female College (Macon), Andrew College (Cuthbert), Paine College (Augusta), Sparks College (Sparks), South Georgia College (McRae), and Emory Junior College (Valdosta). The collection also contains annual reports of colleges and the Board (1931-1938) and records (1957-1964) on Seminary Student Teams working with youth and children.
